1. Safety Preparation Before Cleaning
- Shut down the unit and cut off power with warning tag. Cool oil temperature below 60℃ to avoid scalding by hot oil.
- Release internal system pressure fully until pressure gauge reads zero.
- Remove outer protective covers to fully expose radiator fins.
- Clear surrounding cartons and debris for unobstructed operation space.
2. Dry Air Blowing for Air-cooled Coolers (Light dust, catkin blockage)
- Adjust air gun pressure to 0.3~0.4 MPa. Never blast fins with high pressure which bends aluminum fins permanently.
- Blow air from inside to outside, opposite to fan airflow direction, to blow out dust and lint.
- Blow section by section evenly, focusing on dirt trapped between fins.
- Straighten slightly bent fins with plastic comb; avoid hard metal scrapers.
3. Water Washing for Coolers Heavily Coated with Oil Sludge
- Blow loose surface dust off first.
- Dilute special neutral cooler detergent; strong acid or alkali is forbidden to prevent aluminum corrosion.
- Spray both sides of radiator with low-pressure water gun and detergent, leave for 5–10 minutes to dissolve oil sludge.
- Rinse thoroughly with clean low-pressure water until draining water is clear without black oil residue.
- Air-dry naturally or run cooling fan for 10 minutes to ensure complete drying before reinstalling covers.
⚠️ Cover electric cabinet, motor and sensors in advance to prevent water ingress.
4. Descaling Internal Water-cooled Heat Exchangers
- Close cooling water valves and drain all residual water inside pipelines and cooler.
- Connect circulating cleaning pump with neutral descaling agent, circulate for 30–60 minutes to dissolve limescale.
- Flush with clean water repeatedly to remove residual chemicals until outlet water is neutral and clean.
- Restore pipeline connections and check smooth water flow.
5. Inspect & Clean Auxiliary Heat Dissipation Parts
- Cooling fan: Remove oil and dust on blades; adjust or replace slipping belts; check fan motor for abnormal noise.
- Wind shroud: Clean built-up sludge inside to ensure smooth hot air exhaust and avoid hot air recirculation.
- Air ducts: Clear inlet and outlet vents of blockages for smooth cold air intake.
6. Acceptance Standard After Cleaning
- Radiator fins are fully visible without thick dust or oil sludge; no large-area bent fins.
- Run unit under no-load for 20 min; oil temperature stabilizes at 80~92℃ without overheat alarm.
- Hot air exhausts smoothly without recirculation baking the cooler.
7. Daily Maintenance to Reduce Frequent Cleaning
- Blow weekly in catkin seasons; every 3–5 days for heavily dusty workshops.
- Keep heat sources such as AC outdoor units and ovens far away to reduce oil adhesion.
- Replace air filter on schedule to cut continuous dust intake.
